Family News

Everybody has probably already seen the big news but just in case you are one of the few that have missed it: Faye and I are grandparents again. Naäma was born on September 14, mother, grandmother and Naäma are doing just great, and the father and grandfather are still recuperating. The name Naäma signifies 'lovely' and lovely she is. The pictures say more than a thousand words. Check out our photo page!

Church in Hamme

The church in Hamme is growing. Several new people started coming regularly. These past months the church organized some activities to reach the community. Again this summer we had a basketball initiation with a team from the USA. 50 youngsters participated in this event and a few indicated that they were interested in the gospel. Just last week we had an evangelism outreach with a team from South Africa. Pray for the follow up of these events. Pray that the church will grow in number and in knowledge of the Lord. A picture of the Hamme congregation is on our photo page.

Church in Brakel

Brakel is one of the BEM projects that I'm coaching. The church had a unique opportunity to share the gospel. They were asked to participate in a historical parade organized by the city. The church members illustrated the field preaching by the protestant preachers during reformation time. They were really able to share the gospel.

Het Goede Boek

Those of you that read my prayer updates regularly know that I'm also responsible for the bookshops in Flanders. We have four bookshops, Leuven, Kortrijk, Brugge and Genk. The book ministry is a growing ministry and a lot is going on at this moment. We are looking into ways to expand the ministry. We decided to try to open a fifth shop in Gent by September 2006.

At the same time we are considering to become the importer of Christian books for the all of Flanders. This would mean that we would try to get, for example, good Christian literature in Catholic stores or just regular bookshops. At this moment you can not find Christian books in a regular store. We are also looking in to the possibility of moving to a better location in Leuven.

Bible Expo

We are busy getting the Bible exposition and all the materials around it ready on time. Our goal is to have the exposition ready by April 2005. The official opening is planned the weekend of April 16th. Then the exposition will visit different places in East- and West Flanders. For 2005 we have a full program and already churches are asking the exposition for 2006. We are facing some obstacles in getting the objects from the different museums. By the end of November we will dock the barges in Mechelen and start getting them ready for the exposition. We need a few teams to get the work done. We especially need carpenters, kitchen builders and electricians. We were able to bring the budget for the exposition down to 27.000 Euro and we need maximum 10000 Euro to remodel the barges. We are very thankful that the Lord provided almost enough finances for the exposition (25000 Euro so far) and we pray that He will provide the 10000 Euro to get the barges ready. Look at some Bible Expo pictures on our photo page. Pray for this project and if you would like to help us in any way, just contact me.

We appreciate your prayer and are very thankful for your partnership in our ministry.

Yours in Christ,
Faye and Wilfried Goossens
